At Jack in the Box, we participate in the Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative (“VetFran”) to provide franchising opportunities to qualified veterans.

In this article, we will go over our franchise incentive for veterans along with the requirements you must meet to be eligible.

What’s the VetFran Program?

VetFran is a strategic initiative between the International Franchise Association and the IFA Foundation.

This program was founded in 1991, and it has a mission statement that is two-fold:

To educate both veterans and franchisors about the unique match between the skills and aptitude of entrepreneurial veterans and the demands and opportunities of being a franchisee. Our research and experience has shown that veterans make great franchisees and that the business model is a gateway to small business ownership, prosperity, and success for our nation’s heroes.

To facilitate the transition of veterans into franchising by encouraging franchisors to offer discounts and incentives to veterans on the one hand, and to assemble resources, tools, and a database of franchising opportunities for veterans on the other.

Although veterans account for only 7% of the U.S. population, these individuals make up for 14% of all franchisees in America.

Plus, veterans are more likely to hire other vets. This increases prosperity and job opportunities throughout the Franchising Industry for our nation’s heroes.

Jack in the Box Veterans Program

At Jack in the Box, our VetFran incentive is known as the “Jack in the Box Veterans Program.” Under this program, we reduce the Initial Franchise Fee for the first new restaurant by 25% or $12,500.

Accordingly, the Initial Franchise Fee paid to us is $37,500. This incentive may not be combined with any other incentive program at Jack in the Box.

We take part in this program to make our franchise opportunity more accessible to military veterans who are just getting started on their franchising journey.

Who Qualifies for the Jack in the Box Veterans Program?

To qualify for the Veterans Program at Jack in the Box, a prospective franchisee must:

• Request the Veterans Program at the time of application.
• Meet our then-current qualifications for new franchisees.
• Be at least 51% legally and beneficially owned by persons meeting our qualifying veteran status.
• Not have previously received a similar incentive from us.

Please keep in mind, we may discontinue or modify this Veterans Program at any time.
